The Oyster Project...

Initiating creative, award-winning, voluntary community action ​by people with physical disability of all ages and older people based at the historic Westgate Chapel 92a High Street ​Lewes, The Oyster Project was founded in 2004 by John Russell and became a registered charity in 2009, receiving the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2014.

The Oyster Project supports weekly drama groups, a weekly art group and an annual family camp. In 2019 a series of Wellbeing workshops and art/craft workshop support for dementia is planned. It also works with the Westgate Trust which supporst groups working with homeless people and those with addiction plus the work of Radio Lewes which was founded by Oyster members.
